René was born in Vicksburg, Mississippi. She attended Jackson State University and Millsaps College majoring in Elementary Education. René married and moved to Modesto, California.

René worked in Retail Management 6 years in Modesto at Dunlaps Department Store with Clyde and Jean Dunlap. She later became employed by Modesto City Schools as a Youth Employment Coordinator at Modesto High School. After 6 years of service, she was offered a position at Modesto Junior College in the Workforce Training Center. She was Project Coordinator of two AmeriCorps Programs and the Welfare-to-Work Program. She trained, as well as coordinated trainings for Low Performing Schools in Stanislaus County 2 years with the CARES Project/Child Development Training Consortium. René retired from Modesto Junior College after 18 years of service.  René seasonally works in Human Resources at Stanislaus Foods Products. René is also a High School Presenter. René presents information to high school Seniors and Juniors about "The Differences Between High School, College, University and the World of Work". She is also the full-time ministry as Associate Pastor and Ministry Administrator for New Beginnings Christian Center.       

René has been a vocalist with Modesto Townsend Opera, Newman Performing Arts Productions in Newman, California, STAGE 3 Performing Arts in Sonora, California and with Tommie Muhammad Productions in Stockton, California. The Modesto Bee newspaper stated that René was “a strong and powerful singer” in the musical production of “Ragtime”. They stated that her ad-lib's in the musical "CROWNS" were great and loved by the audience. René was the leading lady in "Don't Bother Me I Can't Cope" and the Modesto Bee stated she has an outstanding voice. She ministers the Word of God and sings throughout the United States traveling wherever the Lord leads her. 

René began writing songs in 1988. One of the first songs René wrote was “I Put My Trust In You", a praise and worship song on her first CD. René has been ministering since 1985. 
 
René’s CD has been played radio stations 107.9 FM KAMB, KCBC 770 AM,  www.Churchline911.com radio station and 1280 AM The Lighthouse Radio Gospel Show. Her CD played eight months on 1280AM. Dave Benton, the Radio Program Director of 101.5 FM radio say’s that René’s voice is great and her CD is outstanding.
